COME WITH ME

Last night I had a dream
That I had drifted away
Into a lost, lovely valley
So lovely and green.
There I saw a strange man.
He was faded and gray,
And when he spoke, I listened
To the words he did say.

Come with me through the valley
Where often I roam.
Let me show you the beauty of living.
Come with me through the valley,
And I’ll take you home.
Take my hand, and I’ll show you the way.

Then I took his hand in mine
And I followed his lead.
Then I noticed, for the first time,
The beauty of life.
I saw flowers and children
And smiling old men.
Then I thought of the words
That the stranger had said.

I awoke with a feeling
Of love in my soul,
And I knew right away what to do.
So I prayed for forgiveness
And a new chance at life,
And now I’m a man born anew.
