About

steve_sm2This site is the writing blog of Steven R. Drennon. I found that as I set out on my course to become a writer, I was always turning to the Internet to find help and suggestions. I started collecting that information and decided that I would share it with other aspiring writers. As a result, this site has become more and more about not just promoting my work, but also helping others figure out how to improve or promote theirs.

This site is also intended to be a source of information for the readers out there. If you’ll take the time to look at the Book Plugs or the Interviews, you just might find a new book or a new author that you would enjoy reading.

Steven R. Drennon was born in Lawton, OK, where he first started writing at the age of 15. He published a fantasy novel titled “Rise of the Raven” in the spring of 2011, and then released another fantasy novel titled “Three for Avadar” in the summer of 2011.

In 2012 he published a pair of suspense novellas, “Desperate Love” and “Shattered Vows”, and in 2013 he published a memoir titled “As Close As Your Favorite Memory”. This was followed in 2014 by a collection of humorous stories based on his experiences as a retail manager, titled “Adventures in Retail”.

Since late 2014 he has been researching and writing an historical fiction series which is a collection of dramatizations based on Medal of Honor recipients. The first book was published in the Fall of 2015 and featured ten recipients from World War I. A second book is under way and is expected to be published in the Spring of 2019.

Steven decided to take early retirement in the summer of 2015 to pursue his dream of being a full-time author, and he currently lives and writes in San Antonio, TX.

  1. Hey there! I saw your link for author interviews on IWU and was wondering if I could do one too? I’ve written “Delivered to Eternity” on Amazon, but it’s under my name in search terms.

    1. Hi Greg,
I am sending you my questionnaire for an interview and a book plug. This will give you a couple of opportunities for exposure, and hopefully they will help a bit. I’ve found that by getting people to interview you and/or provide a book plug, it sometimes helps with a sale or two.

I think the most important thing, however, is just getting your name out there so that people get a chance to find out about you and your book. Once I receive your responses I’ll get them added into my queue. Good luck with your efforts!
