I stand here beside you
Prepared to pledge my love,
And in just a short time
A simple, basic ceremony
Will unite the two of us
Into one love combined.
I am not nervous or afraid,
Only anxious to begin
This new life we will share,
And to experience the joy
Which our new love will bring.
Please stay beside me
And share all things with me
So that our love may grow.
I wish these vows which we
Are about to exchange
Could last longer than a few moments,
So that I could feel the excitement
Which I feel now for a little longer,
And although these words
Will eventually fade,
I know that the memory of them,
As well as the love we share,
