She cries alone at night because
He’s gone and left her all alone.
It breaks her heart because she knows
He didn’t even try to phone.
He must be working late again.
She thinks of giving him a call,
Instead she sits and wonders if
He ever thinks of her at all.
He comes home and eats his supper,
Reads the paper, and goes to bed.
She tries to talk to him and yet,
He’s hardly heard a thing she’s said.
He puts his arms around her and
He tells her things will be all right,
But he just falls asleep and then
Again she cries alone at night.
