LADIES OF THE NIGHT

You’ll see them when the sun goes down.
They work ’till morning’s light.
This life is never easy for
The ladies of the night.

Their dreams are often out of reach,
But never out of sight.
Tomorrow brings new hope to all
The ladies of the night.

You find them in the dim-lit bars.
They’ll serve you, black or white,
For race makes no impression on
The ladies of the night.

Society looks down on them.
The things they do aren’t right,
But socialites can’t understand
The ladies of the night.
