THREE LANE PARKING LOT

I’m driving down the highway.
Everybody’s going my way.
Paying no attention
To the traffic signs at all.
Everybody’s in a hurry.
Sometimes it makes me worry.
I approach my destination
Barely faster than a crawl.

‘Cause the traffic’s backed up on Loop 610.
Somebody tell my boss I’m going to be late again.
My air conditioner’s broke and my car is running hot
As I’m sitting here, waiting in a three lane parking lot.

Now every weekday morning
It occurs without a warning,
And defensive driving courses
Can’t prepare you for the worst.
So you’re trying to avoid it.
Ain’t it time someone destroyed it?
We’d go back to riding horses.
I would like to be the first.
