THE LOVE WE ARE SHARING

I woke up this morning
With you by my side,
And I felt so happy
That I almost cried.
I thought that I’d wake up
And find you had gone
And left me once more here,
Afraid and alone.

As I felt you stirring,
Beginning to rise,
I struggled to wake up
And look in your eyes.
I lost all my longing
When I saw your face,
And that’s when I knew that
I’d found my own place.

You needed to wander,
So I set you free.
At times I would wonder
If you still loved me.
But now we’re together
And this time we know
This love that we’re sharing
Is certain to grow.
