ANOTHER DRINK

I walked into the bar and I pulled up a stool.
I was nobody special, just another fool
Hoping to drown my sorrow away with whiskey or wine.
Then I waited a while until the bartender came.
I don’t recall if I asked him his name,
But when he asked me how I was doing, I lied and said fine.

My wife has taken a lover,
She’s holding another
The same way she used to hold me.
No, I don’t need your sympathy,
Just another drink.
‘Cause I’ll be drinking ‘til closing.
I’ll be quickly disposing
Of all of her memories.
So bartender won’t you please
Fix me another drink.
