THE PART I PLAY

Deep inside I know
That I’m not over you.
I try to hide it so
That you won’t know it’s true,
But any fool can see
You’ve got a hold on me.

I feel this pain inside,
But I can’t let it show,
And even though I’ve tried,
I just can’t let you go.
Please ask your memory,
What does it want from me?

There’s a void in my heart
Where my love for you used to be.
I’ve just been playing a part
Like an actor in some tragedy.
If I continue to play
I might believe it someday.
