HEAVEN HERE ON EARTH

I come home from a hard day’s work,
And she’s waiting there for me.
I see her smile as I open the door.
This is where I want to be.
She gets up and comes to me and pulls me close.
She looks me in my eyes and says hello.
Then I thank the Lord that I’m the one she chose,
And I don’t want to let her go.

She takes my hands and places them upon her hips,
Then she says, “How was your day?”
I smile at her, and then I kiss her lips.
There’s really nothing more to say.
Then she takes my hand and leads me to the couch
And helps me loosen up my tie.
When I look at her, I know that there’s no doubt,
I’ll stay with her until I die.

Every night I thank the Lord for the blessings in my life.
I realize how much they’re worth.
The greatest gift of all is the woman who’s my wife.
With her, there’s heaven here on earth.

When the morning comes, we start another day.
Then I have to thank the Lord again
For all His blessings, and then as I pray,
I know how fortunate I’ve been.
Then I watch her as she holds our little girls,
And I’m almost overcome by tears.
This has to be the greatest feeling in the world,
And I know I’ll treasure it for years.

I take my shower, and then I get dressed.
I have to go to work again,
But I know tonight that I’ll be blessed
When I make it home to them.
I say goodbye and give them each a hug and kiss,
Then I tell the girls to mind their Mom.
Being here with them is something that I miss,
And I just can’t wait to be back home.
