HOW MUCH DO I LOVE YOU?

You lied to me right from the very start
When you came to me and said I’d won your heart.
You said I was the only one who could ever turn your head.
I should have known better than to listen to what you said.

How much do I love you? Let me count the ways
That you’ve disappointed me both night and day.
Every time you lied to me, I said I love you anyway.

You tried to tell me I was the only one,
But your best friend told me that you were out having fun
With one of the guys you met at work, and you were stringing me along,
But I looked at her and I told her she was wrong.

You told me you’d be there anytime I called,
But last night your telephone rang off the wall.
I sat there all alone and I tried to think where you might go,
But then I decided I didn’t want to know.
