HAVEN’T WE MET BEFORE?

When I first walked in, I looked around the place.
I saw you right there, a smile upon your face.
I ordered a drink and found myself a seat,
Then I started looking for someone to meet.
I saw you again, and you were staring at me.
I started wondering what it could be.
Maybe my hat was falling off of my head,
But that’s when you walked up to me and said.

Haven’t we met before
Somewhere not long ago?
Tell me, what could it be?
You look familiar to me.
Are you someone I know?
Haven’t we met before,
Somewhere on down the line?
Maybe it was a dream,
And yet somehow it seems
It’s so fresh in my mind.

The band started playing, and you asked me to dance.
I felt kind of lucky, so I took a chance.
Then you took my hand and pulled me out on the floor.
I told you my name and then you told me yours.
We started dancing real close and real tight,
Holding each other all through the night.
I never dreamed that I could feel this way.
Now I’m so happy you decided to say.
