PLEASURES OF PARENTHOOD

Nursery rhymes and lullabies,
Learning the golden rule.
Holding her close every time she cries,
And picking her up from school.

Holding her hand through walks in the park
And learning new games to play.
Showing her there’s nothing in the dark
That Daddy can’t chase away.

These are the pleasures of parenthood,
Things that I never would
Change because they’re too dear.
These are the pleasures of parenthood,
Things that make me feel good
Each time my daughter is near.

Showing her animals in the zoo,
Learning her ABC’s.
There’s always something we can do,
Because she is so easy to please.

Telling her bedtime stories at night,
Then watching her fall asleep.
Then in the morning I’m holding her tight.
My love for her runs so deep.
