GOING BACK HOME

I think that Houston’s such a lovely place,
A fascinating city on the go,
And yet, it doesn’t have the kind of space
Where one can really spread out, don’t you know?

The city’s bright lights always make me smile.
They make me feel there’s nothing I can’t do,
But I have not been home in quite a while,
And I’ve been feeling lonely without you.

I’m going back home, to Oklahoma,
Because it’s been too long since I was there.
I’m going home to show that I still care.
I’m going back home, to Oklahoma,
Because my heart’s back there where I belong.
So I’ll be going home before too long.

I live my life out on the open road,
But that’s a life I chose so long ago.
Right now I’ve got to take just one more load,
Then I’ll be going home. I miss you so.
