AS I WATCH YOU SLEEPING

Your hair falls softly across my arms
As I watch you sleeping, quietly.
You twitch your nose, and I smile.
Your mind is lost in dreams,
While mine is lost in you.
My thoughts are centered on us
And the way you’ve made me feel.
I have no concerns when you are near,
No worries, doubts, or fears.
I feel at ease when you’re at hand.
I can be myself around you.
A warm feeling of comfort and peace
Surrounds me as I watch you sleeping.
You open your eyes and look right into mine.
A smile crosses your lips, those lovely lips.
I long for their kiss,
And you respond.
