I CAN’T RECALL YOUR NAME

I can still recall the way you looked
The night when we first met.
Yes, even though it’s been some time,
I’ve not forgotten yet.
And I can still recall the look
I saw there in your eyes,
And the fact that I’m in love with you
Should really come as no surprise.

I can still recall the way I felt
When I first felt your touch.
I thought my heart would surely melt,
For I loved you that much.
And I can still recall the night
We danced ‘til morning’s light.
I don’t believe I’ve ever had
A more fulfilling night.

I can still recall the way we felt when morning came.
How we held each other closely without feeling shame.
And it was funny how the words we spoke were quite the same.
We both said, “Thank you for this evening,
But I can’t recall your name.”
