OUT OF MY LIFE

She told me it was over.
She said that we were through.
She said that she was leaving me
And there was nothing that I could do.
She said that we were finished,
No point in going on.
She said that I’d forget in time,
But I’m finding out she was wrong.

She may be out of my life.
There’s nothing I can do.
And she’s no longer my wife.
Okay, so that much is true.
And so I’ve found that my life
Isn’t quite what it seems.
She may be out of my life,
But she’s not out of my dreams.

I must admit that it’s over
Since she’s no longer around.
It’s been lonely and quiet here,
Because my tears don’t make any sounds.
I guess I’ll just have to face it
And find a way to go on.
I’m sure that I can forget her in time,
But it seems to be taking so long.

My friends keep trying to tell me,
Go out and find someone new,
But I’m not ready to take that chance,
So I really don’t know what to do.
I guess a part of the problem
That I’m not ready to face
Is that she’s always there on my mind,
And I’m still seeing her every place.
