I swore there’d come a day when I would make her mine,
And we would be together until the end of all time.
So I went right out and bought myself a shiny wedding ring,
And I tied it to a dozen roses with a tiny piece of string.
When she saw that ring around the roses
Well, you know I thought she’d break right down and cry,
And when she took that ring around the roses
I swore I’d stay with her until I die.
She gave me a big ol’ hug and we started right away
Setting dates and making plans for our wedding day.
We sent out invitations to our families and friends,
And I knew the love we shared right then was never going to end.
Now you know, it’s been ten years since we first took those vows,
And the love I’m feeling for her is even stronger now.
So on our anniversary I’m giving her a ring
Tied to a dozen roses with a tiny little string.
