SOMEWHERE IN THE NIGHT

Somewhere in the night
When the lights are down low
She’ll be feeling kind of lonely
Then she’ll get the urge to go.
She’ll walk into the closet
And put on her tight jeans,
Then she’ll be headed downtown
To the country music scene.

Somewhere in the night with the music real loud,
Somewhere in the night she’ll get lost in the crowd.
Somewhere in the night she’ll be having fun again.
Somewhere in the night she’ll forget about him.

It happens every night
When she’s sitting there alone,
Surrounded by his memory
In the place they called home.
She can’t accept the fact
He doesn’t love her anymore,
But she puts it from her mind
When she’s out on the floor.

She wakes up in the morning
And then struggles through the day.
She tries to tell herself
There’s got to be a better way.
Then when the evening comes
And she starts to feel down,
She slips into her jeans
And then she’s headed downtown.
