ONLY SUCCESS I REALLY NEED

I got on board the bus last night, headed for L.A.
I set out to be a star, and now I’m on my way.
Every town we stop in, folks call out my name.
They all want a piece of me, but I don’t feel the same.
When we pulled into town, I headed straight to my hotel.
I looked in the mirror, and man, I looked like hell.
This road is getting to me. It’s rotting out my brain.
If I don’t have a change real soon, I swear I’ll go insane.

It’s time to slow things down. I gotta turn it around,
And head straight back home to you.
Getting out of this place so I can see your face
Would be the best thing I could do.
It took me a while to come around,
But now I finally see
The only success I really need
I’ve got waiting at home for me.

So now I’m on an airplane, on my way back home.
I’m giving up this lifestyle, ‘cause I’m tired of being alone.
By tomorrow morning, I’ll be with you once more.
Then by tomorrow evening, we’ll be loving behind closed doors.
