I’LL FOREVER LOVE YOU

I knew that you loved me long before you.
Each time that I looked in your eyes, I just knew.
But you wouldn’t say it until you were certain,
For you were afraid that you’d be hurt again.

Can you still remember not so long ago?
I said, “I’ll love you forever,” but you didn’t know
How I could be so sure that my love would last,
When everything seemed to be going so fast.

I whispered, “I love you” as I spoke your name,
And I told you someday, if you felt the same,
Say you’ll love me forever, and I’ll make you my wife.
Then I’ll make you so happy for the rest of your life.

I told you I’d wait because I knew for sure
The love I was feeling for you would endure.

Then when you said forever, I knew that I’d never
Have reason to ever feel lonely or blue.
Now each time I hold you, let my love enfold you.
Remember I told you I’ll forever love you.
