TWO STEPPIN’ AND TWO TIMIN’

The other night I went out drinking with some of my friends.
You know my baby don’t mind as long as she knows I’m with them.
It’s just a night on the town with the boys,
Having some fun and making some noise,
And she knows when the evening is done I’ll be home again.

Just as soon as we got to the club, my good buddy Chance
Said, “Hey take a look at that girl!” So I gave her a glance.
She was really quite a sight to see,
And I noticed she was looking at me.
Then she walked on up and asked if I’d like to dance.

So we danced for a while, then I bought her a drink at the bar.
Then we got started talking, but I never thought it’d go so far.
When she finished off the rest of her drink,
She just smiled as she gave me a wink.
Then the next thing I knew, she was leading me out to her car.

So I’ll be two steppin’ and two timin’ tonight.
Heaven help me, I know that this isn’t right.
I’m not putting up much resistance,
Because this lady is out of sight.
So I’ll be two steppin’ and two timin’ tonight.

She took me on a trip to the moon and brought me back again.
Then she dropped me off in front of the club in front of my friends.
She just smiled as she drove away,
And not one of us knew what to say.
They just patted me on the back and gave me a grin.

If my lady finds out, I know there’ll be hell to pay.
That’s the chance a man takes when he
decides to go and play.
Well you can bet we’d have ourselves a fight
If she knew what I’d done tonight.
So this evening when I get home I’m not going to say

I was two steppin’ and two timin’ tonight.
Heaven help me, I know that it wasn’t right.
I wasn’t putting up much resistance,
Because that lady was out of sight.
So I was two steppin’ and two timin’ tonight.
